T'was the Friday Before xmas
Good Morning,It's the Friday before Christmas, although for some strange reason, it doesn't feel that way - it could just be me, but I digress. In case you haven't heard there's a massive winter warning alert across the entire United States - power lines might be disrupted, roads may be blocked, and businesses may never recover. But we're not going to let the weather or other circumstances hold us back. We are going to show up, regardless of the weather, regardless of the circumstances, regardless of the amount of last-minute Christmas shopping we need to get done - because we have coffee, and as long as we have coffee we're going to get shit done. So put that jacket on, double layer those socks, and buckle up BUCKAROO, we got some good fuel for you today.
In Today's Morning 6-9:
A Whole Lotta Technologies (Blurp Thoughts in RED)
Business Boomer
Cultural Catch up

Tech Advancements we Are Seeing Today:
A Chinese flying car startup (yes you read that right) has completed two public flights of its prototype aircraft in Dubai and China. The company's sixth-generation model is an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that can be driven on the road more than 90% of the time and only flown in the event of traffic jams or obstacles. The founder Zhao Deli expects the car, to go into mass production in 2025 and be priced at around $140,000. (What could possibly go wrong?)

NASA's InSight Lander on Mars has likely sent its final communication to Earth, (Sad I know, but remember it's a robot and has no actual thoughts or feelings.) The lander's power has been gradually decreasing due to dust on its solar panels, and it is expected to officially shut down after missing two consecutive communication sessions with the spacecraft orbiting Mars.
My power’s really low, so this may be the last image I can send. Don’t worry about me though: my time here has been both productive and serene. If I can keep talking to my mission team, I will – but I’ll be signing off here soon. Thanks for staying with me.

We're going back to the MOON. "We went to the moon, in 1969" (Even Stevens Song) and now in 2023, several private lunar landers are expected to reach the moon. These landers will be used to study the lunar environment and lay the groundwork for future human missions under NASA's Artemis program. Other moon landings are also planned by the space agencies of India, Japan, and Russia, as well as additional landings by Intuitive Machines. (Makes ya wonder, why did we wait 54 years to do this?)
More Technologies that make you may see more of in the very near future:
3D-printed steaks - that are made from a mix of soy and pea proteins, as well as other vegetable-derived ingredients. These bad boys are set to revolutionize the way we think about meat alternatives, offering a taste and texture that's more realistic than ever before. And if that wasn't enough, we've also got beef that's grown from bovine STEM cells, which can be used to print steaks in any configuration, allowing us to choose the exact fat percentage and marbling pattern we desire. (If your girl didn't know what she wanted to order before, she definitely won't know now. Say goodbye to world hunger LOL. )

Future Clothing - Recent breakthroughs in technologies known as nanoparticles or nanofibers allow us to create clothing that's waterproof, resistant to stains, more breathable, has better heat transfer, and is even antimicrobial, helping to keep us feeling clean and fresh for longer. No more swamp ass. All of These improvements in the fabric work without a significant increase in weight, thickness, or stiffness. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or just a bit of a klutz, this technology is definitely worth checking out.
Augmented and Virtual reality to Retail, Tourism, and Healthcare industries:
Retail - we will be able to try on clothes before we buy them - almost like a snap chat filter but with tailored outfits.
Tourism - Ever want to visit Rome but are afraid of flying? How about test-driving a Bugatti? or wanting to see what it is like to stay in the most luxurious hotel in Dubai? well, now you can from the comfort of your own home! (Hard pass but cool)
Healthcare - how physicians and other medical professionals are trained, to augment their ability to practice medicine via telehealth and telemedicine (Doctors and Surgeons may be able to WFH in the future)
CRISPR - a gene editing technology that's being used to treat diseases and genetic disorders. With potential applications in agriculture and environmental conservation, this technology is set to have a huge impact on the world around us. (Much of CRISPR has the world thinking about ethics and morals, I am not sure where I stand just yet but let me know what you think of this concept pictured below )

So there you have it, morning bros and morning sisters - some seriously impressive technologies that are set to change the game. Keep your eyes peeled for these and more as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible.
Business is Boomer and Nobody wants to get Drunk
Good ol' Warren Buffet, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has straight-up told people to forget about selling stocks and hoarding cash, gold, or bitcoin during wars. Instead, he recommends investing in productive businesses because, in the long run, they'll make you more money than holding on to pieces of paper or crypto. Buffet cited the example of the US stock market rising during World War II and America's overall success as a country, despite facing tough challenges like the Civil War and the Great Depression. Buffet's message is clear: don't panic and sell off your stocks during times of conflict or war, because they'll probably end up being a good buying opportunity. (But it's easier to say when you're worth a 100+ billion dollars)

No Booze? No problem - Sales of no- and low-alcohol beverages grew by more than 7% in volume across 10 key global markets in 2022, surpassing $11 billion in market value.

This growth is expected to continue at an annual rate of 7%, compared to a rate of 5% between 2018 and 2022, and is driven by an expansion in taste, production techniques, and the diversification of consumption occasions. (Gen Z doesn't like to drink and it's upsetting companies around the world - will do a deep dive on this later) The non-alcoholic sector is expected to account for more than 90% of total category growth, with non-alcoholic products showing 9% growth in 2022.
Cultural Catch ups
Lionel Messi just scored the most-liked Instagram post of all time with his World Cup win pics, beating out the previous record holder (an egg) by a mile. The soccer star racked up over 68 million likes in just a few hours, proving that he's not just a world-class athlete but a social media pro too. - Update this is also the most like social media post of all time, thus making it the Greatest Of All Time. (My Ronaldo fans extra salty)

Speaking of the world cup and things getting MESSI, Salt Bae, also known as Nusret Gökçe,(is he Albanian?) is banned from attending the 2023 U.S. Open Cup Final after he was seen on the pitch at the FIFA World Cup holding and kissing the trophy and taking photos with players. FIFA has launched an investigation and stated that his appearance there breached World Cup rules, which allow only winners and heads of state to touch the trophy. The organization has not yet announced any punishment, but stated that "appropriate internal action will be taken." The 18-carat World Cup Trophy is worth around $21.3 million. (a couple of remarks - I used to love salt bae, i think we all did at one point so this man's character arc was bound to fall at some point. Also, did anyone else know the world cup trophy is worth that much? like WOAH? at least this awkward encounter leaves us with some epic memes )

The winter solstice was yesterday, it is the day in the year when the Northern Hemisphere has the shortest period of daylight and longest night, (Thanks God (Albanian accent)) and the Southern Hemisphere has the longest period of daylight and shortest night. The winter solstice has been a significant time of year in many cultures and has been marked by festivals and rituals to celebrate the symbolic death and rebirth of the sun. It is also often seen as the middle of winter and has been marked by celebrations of new beginnings and reversal of roles. Many ancient monuments, such as Stonehenge and Newgrange, are aligned with the winter solstice sunrise or sunset.

Netflix is coming out with a completely new concept for a sitcom - a show deemed "That '90s Show" 😵😳 . If you don't feel Old yet just keep reading. They have sourced talent from a variety of places, including recasting 60% of the cast from That '70s Show for the trailer. Funny how life is circular... it's beautiful really. (And the worst part is, I am definitely going to watch it.)

Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of cryptocurrency exchange FTX is in what we like to call "Deep Sh*t. Not only has his trial officially started, but now his former lover Caroline Ellison, and his former exec at FTC both cut deals with the US attorney's office to cover their own charges. A life lesson for the ages - loyalty is a dying art. Although, not all is bleak - he has been released on a $250m bond while awaiting trial on charges of defrauding customers and investors. (If I were Sam, I am going to seek asylum in Russia or something of that sort - or just cry while eating 1,000 Oreos and blow whatever customer funds he has remaining)

The best scene in Rocky was when Rocky was calling out for Adrian and Salt Bae forced his way into the ring to take a selfie with Rocky.
